In its commitment to safety and resilience in the academic community, CSU Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led a Standard First Aid training for students, faculty, and personnel in emergency response held at the Conference Hall, Administration Building on June 9-11, 2025
Participants engaged in theoretical discussions and practical exercises covering key life-saving techniques, fracture immobilization, and proper transport of injured persons with the integration of DRRM concepts aligned with the CSU’s risk reduction protocols for coordinated and informed disaster response. As a foundational skill in disaster response, mastering first aid response can reduce the severity of injuries, prevent complications, and save lives. This initiative supports the objectives of Republic Act 10121 (Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010), which emphasizes the role of academic institutions in disaster preparedness and risk reduction. More importantly, it reinforces the university’s proactive stance in safeguarding the welfare of its community in a region frequently affected by natural hazards.
