As a Green University committed to responsible environmental stewardship, Caraga State University joins the World Environment Day celebration through university-wide activities for students, personnel, and stakeholders, on June 5, 2025.
Graduating students planted trees at Brgy. Basag at 5 in the morning while university personnel also took part in the campus-wide Do-Day and Adopt-an-Estero cleanup drive, responsive to the partnership of CSU, Brgy. Ampayon, and DENR in the restoration, conservation, and sustainable management of Ampayon Creek.
In the afternoon, stakeholders will convene for the Consultation on the Formulation of the “No Single-Use Plastic Policy” at the Conference Hall, Admin Building. This move will reduce the plastic consumption at CSU, which aligns with the call of the WED for collective action to tackle plastic pollution.
The theme “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration” highlights the need for ecological restoration and action-oriented environmental leadership, which are values CSU upholds and relevant to the SDGs No. 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), No. 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), No. 13 (Climate Action), No. 14 (Life Below Water), and No. 15 (Life on Land).
