In alignment with the approved Revised Organizational Structure of Caraga State University, per Board of Regents (BOR) Resolution No. 85-16, s.2024, the Office of Student Leadership and Development (OSLD) serves as a frontline unit committed to fostering the holistic and responsible growth of student leadership. Drawing inspiration from CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 09, s.2013, the office is dedicated to initiate, facilitate, and support programs and activities aimed at promoting leadership, journalism, community engagement, and entrepreneurship among students.

Pursuant to Special Order No. 443, s.2023, Associate Professor Rex Makinano has been designated as the Director of the Office. Under his leadership, the office strives to optimize resources and streamline services to effectively carry out its key functions. These include supervising and coordinating with the University Student Government, the League of Campus Organizations, the Student Publication, and the Student Enterprise Development; overseeing the budget allocation and spending processes of the Student Government, in collaboration with the Student Government Treasurer; ensuring that all student organizations comply with relevant state and university policies, rules, and regulations; maintaining comprehensive records of registered student organizations and collecting necessary updates each semester; managing requests for student organization activities, such as fundraising and campus space reservations; and providing leadership in fostering campus-community outreach and collaboration. Additionally, the office takes the lead in developing, reviewing, and presenting plans to higher authorities for the advancement of its units, while implementing approved programs designed to support student growth and engagement.
