HERO Learning Commons

The transformation of the Caraga State University Library into the CSU-HERO Learning Commons addresses the evolving challenges of the 21st century. More than just a repository of knowledge, it has become the institution’s dynamic hub for learning, research, and intellectual growth. No longer limited to quiet study, it now thrives as a vibrant space for active learning, collaboration, and innovation.
The Library and Information Service unit is mandated to:
- Curate and maintain collections of materials that effectively support, enrich, and satisfy the curricula and research needs of its stakeholders.
- Provide open, accessible, and dynamic learning spaces, both physical and virtual, to promote individual and collaborative learning, as well as foster creative and critical thinking.
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve a quality management system within library processes to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
- Innovate and modernize library functions and services to achieve wider information coverage and streamlined library operations.
- Ensure all documents and documented procedures within the Library and Information Services unit are consistently updated, fully compliant with internal and external standards, and effectively maintained.
- Develop and enforce robust monitoring and evaluation system to assess library performance and identify strategies for continuous improvement.
