July 31, 2019. Caraga State University, through the initiative of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs marked the culmination activity for its first ever Affirmative Action Plan completers.

CSU Hires 38 New Employees

Caraga State University hired 38 new employees for 2019, in both academic and administrative areas.

A total of 13 Project Assistants, 11 Technical Assistants, 10 faculty, 8 Outsourced Utility Workers and Driver, 3 Laboratory Technicians, and 1 University Architect with varied eligibilities in their respective areas of specialization were hired to add up to the University’s manpower and to better serve the increasing number of CSU students and clients.

Through the Commission on Higher Education’s Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency Program (ETEEAP), two of Caraga State University’s administration employees finished their undergraduate degrees this year.

Mr. Stanley Estrada, Administrative Aide II assigned to the Office of the President earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Saint Joseph Institute of Technology, Butuan City last­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ May 30, 2019. He served the university for 21 years starting as an Office Clerk.

CSU Teams Up with UTM in STEM

CSU signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor, Malaysia to work together in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

On July 13-18, 2019, a party composed of eight faculty-researchers from the various programs led by Dr. Rolando N. Paluga, Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), and Dr. Rowena P. Varela, Vice President for Research Innovation and Extension (VPRIE), visited the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as part of the effort to internationalize CSU's programs.

Three Caraga State University students, Jake Warren C. Bago taking Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Vince Bernard G. Planas, a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student, and Haydee Jean B. Laguesma, enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry attended Summer @Silpakorn 2019 at the Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, last July 9-17, 2019.
